Kota's Tollywood Directors

Kota's outburst on Tollywood Directors

Senior actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who is one of the finest actors in the country, has come down heavily on Tollywood directors for ignoring the local talent and encouraging the imports from other industries.

"Tollywood Directors & Producers are giving more importance to the Imported actors. Even there is discrimination in remuneration between Tollywood actors and Imported actors. We take what they offered to us, but they give what the imported actors demand. I have no objection if the roles were offered to the actors someone like Naseeruddin Shah or Nana Patekar, but bringing someone who is unfit and teaching them all the acting techniques along with a hefty pay cheque is unacceptable. I'm saying all this here not for myself, but keeping in view of the future generations. I feel that It should be like 'Live and Let Live' in Telugu Film Industry. So please encourage Telugu talent," said Kota Srinivasa Rao.

While the import of Actresses has become quite common, the trend did not stop with just that but went on with Character Actors, Directors, Music directors, Choreographers, Cinematographers, Fight Masters, Make-up Mans and the latest Designers and Hairstylists too. In most of the Telugu films - except for the hero, more than half of the crew members are packed with B-town actors and technicians. Let's hope that this trend changes in future to produce some of the great 'Telugu' actors like Kota Srinivasa Rao!!!
